Story
Every year, the sun shines a little brighter over Atlanta during the annual @Promise Field Day. It’s more than just a day of games, food, and friendly competition—it’s a celebration of what’s possible when a community comes together to invest in its youth.
The @Promise Initiative, launched by the Atlanta Police Foundation, is a citywide movement focused on providing young people with meaningful pathways to success through education, mentorship, mental health services, and job readiness programs. Rooted in trust and collaboration, the initiative brings together nonprofit partners, schools, law enforcement, and families to create a network of support that uplifts and empowers.
Field Day is the heart of this mission in motion. With nearly 600 youth, volunteers, and police officers participating each year, the event turns a simple sports field into a vibrant space for connection. Youth from @Promise Centers are paired with APD officers and volunteers for relay races, team games, and shared meals—building bonds that last far beyond the day’s events.
But the impact of Field Day reaches even further. Funds raised through the event directly support programming at @Promise Centers across Atlanta—places where young people discover new opportunities, receive critical support, and build the confidence to dream big. For many participants, the journey begins at Field Day with a handshake, a laugh, and the realization that their community is rooting for them.
Thanks to donors like you, the @Promise Initiative continues to grow—expanding its reach, deepening its impact, and showing what’s possible when we invest in youth not just with words, but with action.
Together, we are building a safer, stronger, and more united Atlanta—one relationship at a time.
