- Providing hot meals to families in need in the Southtowns of WNY. This includes the homeless, those under quarantine/recovering from COVID-19, and families under financial strain.
- Providing financial support to local families with urgent needs. This has been a longstanding resource for our local community, and we are hoping to extend it to more families during this period of need.
- Feed Buffalo: an initiative to provide a week's worth of groceries to nearly 1,000 local families who are physically or financially unable to get groceries at this time (a partnership with other WNY churches)
- Providing 200 eligible graduates of Buffalo public and charter schools with Chromebooks, or similar, enabling them to continue their studies (a partnership with other WNY churches and Say Yes Buffalo).
- Providing micro grants to small local churches or non-profit ministries who have significant need in light of COVID-19.
- Continuing to support our partner ministry, The Trading Post, in Springville. The Trading Post meets 25,000 needs in their community annually, and the demands for groceries and supplies are higher now.
It is a core truth that the church is far larger than our four campuses, and as part of the larger Church in WNY we have a responsibility to come alongside other churches in need.
COVID-19 forced the closure of schools, businesses, and so much of life in Western New York on March 15, 2020. By Monday, March 16, our team was already buzzing with ideas of how to be the hands and feet of Jesus in this moment. The result was Be The Church: an effort to gather groceries, cleaning supplies, paper products, and other donated goods and then distribute those to the people who were most vulnerable.
This has been and continues to be a great success. But now we are linking arms with other churches and Christian organizations in our community to extend our reach and help others in new ways. We invite you to join us!
