This scholarship was initially endowed in 2003 to support students who have successfully completed their first year at Blackburn, have financial need, and demonstrate significant academic promise. It is the express wish that students will be able to receive renewed funding for subsequent years when possible, providing the student remains in good academic standing and is otherwise qualified. It is this endowment's earnings that are used to provide the funding for students, therefore allowing the Class of 1963 to provide scholarships in perpetuity to students with promise and financial need. Growing this endowment will increase its earnings and therefore increase the amount that can be awarded in future years.
