Bytes4Bites was born during the COVID-19 era, when technology kept us connected — and now, we’re back to make an even bigger impact!

From June 1 to July 31, tech companies and organizations across 34 counties will unite to raise funds and collect food, helping fight hunger in our communities. Thanks to generous partners, donations will have double the impact — stay tuned for a special July announcement!

Every dollar matters. Whether you give online or by check (with Bytes 4 Bites VFD in the memo), your support helps the Food Bank deliver nutritious meals to families, children, and seniors across Central and Eastern North Carolina.

Why it matters:

Summer is one of the hardest times for families facing hunger. When school lets out, kids lose access to free breakfast and lunch — forcing parents to come up with at least 10 extra meals per child every week. At the same time, local food pantries and meal programs face skyrocketing demand.

With millions cut in federal funds that support food banks and schools to purchase fresh foods from local farms, this means millions more meals lost for families — and puts small farms at risk.

Today, more than 560,000 people — including nearly 174,000 kids — are food insecure in our region. As state and federal support fades and costs rise, the need has never been greater.
