In camping terms, trail angels are the silent helpers of hikers on a journey. By offering various types of "trail magic," from a thermos of cold water to a home-cooked meal, trail angels provide positive outreach that connects people to nature and to each other. Our kids are on a different kind of journey right now. Social distancing measures taken for COVID-19 have uprooted all of our lives, and have placed great stress on our children, especially those lacking resources. They need interpersonal connections and outdoor experiences right now, and will need them even more after the quarantine is over.
