Overnight camp at Camp Loma Mar (CLM) is back this summer, and we're so excited to offer camp to youth and families in the East Bay! The last two years of the pandemic have really changed the lives of so many people, especially families deeply impacted by the pandemic from low-income communities. Now more than ever, the need to get out and enjoy the outdoors this summer is on everyone's to do list.

Kids are ready and more excited than ever to be back in-person at camp! (We're sure parents feel the same way too!) This year, more than 1,000 kids have registered to attend YMCA Summer Camp, many who come from marginalized communities that struggle to meet the cost of attending camp. That's why we look to YOU to help offer camperships (camp scholarships) for youth and families in need! With your support, you allow us to keep our mission going by not turning away anyone who can't afford to send their kid to camp.

As we're sure you have once experienced overnight camp at Camp Loma Mar, we offer youth the opportunity to bond and socialize, develop leadership skills, and enjoy the outdoors through activities like ziplining, rock climbing, and hiking. Family camp offers families the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, experience activities together, and meet other families.

At the Y, we're fortunate to offer children and adults an opportunity to experience camp and to accomplish a sense of personal growth and development. Meet K. - A foster child from Oakland who is on the honor roll list this semester and is a member of the rock-climbing club, book club, and the lacrosse team. "I'm interested in coming to camp because I enjoy outdoor activities, campfires, making s'mores, and to meet other kids from different places. I'm learning about biology and nature in science class, and I'm interested in nature and wild animals. I'm looking forward to coming to camp this summer." K., like so many other kids, wish no other than to experience overnight camp.
