Growing Beyond Our Walls: Connecting God and Community

Our mission is thriving, but our walls are overflowing. A new building isn't just about bricks and mortar—it’s about ensuring everyone in our community can come and connect with God. God is calling CCC to the next level. Will you partner with us?

Story

Connecting God and Community...

From a small little Home Church started in 2007, to a Church Plant in Emmitsburg in a rental building in 2012, to a flourishing church ready to build on a fully paid for 8+ acre lot of land in the center of town... Christ’s Community Church is ready for the next level!

Our beginnings are small, but God’s calling is big.

It began with that calling from God. A calling to build a place to connect God and community.

That would be a hospital… for people to come and be healed and sent out to do the same for others.

A Bible school… locally and across the world, leading people from a religion to a relationship with Jesus.

A safe place for children to grow, learn and be ministered to.

A place for a nationwide ministry to the orphans.

After searching for years, patiently waiting for that place to move from a home church to a building, CCC was blessed with their building that they have been renting from the town for the past 12 years. Upon first leasing the building, the hope was that the rent would be able to be paid by subletting part of the building, but that was never necessary.

God soon grew the church and the building was filled.

Groups from the community also began using the building. Support groups began to meet in those walls…. Celebrate Recovery, GriefShare, and a Women’s Recovery group. Children’s groups like the Boys and Girls Club of Frederick County utilized the building.

People were being healed, lives restored, children were being cared for and taught, lives were being changed and continue to be changed.

But the limitations of this building has become apparent. There is no parking for our summer campers, no room for the kids, no room for future activities and programs, simply… no room. Once again, Pastor John and Dana began praying… what was the next level for CCC? How would God answer this prayer for the community?

The answer came four years ago with a property acquired debt-free, a $500,000 piece of prime real estate in the middle of the town. This would be the place... the place to provide support groups, children’s activities, ministries, a church community for the residents of Emmitsburg and the surrounding areas.

Situated in Northern Frederick County, Emmitsburg is often a forgotten part of the county and state. Although many travel through to neighboring suburbs of Frederick City, Baltimore, and Harrisburg, few recognize the value of this small little community.

Historically, Emmitsburg is known for….the National Fire Academy, Mount Saint Mary’s, and Seton Shrine. But there are lacking resources that we plan to provide for the residents of this town and surrounding areas. We hope to be a gateway to the Truth, reaching, connecting and equipping others to go and love as Jesus did.

On this 8+ acres we are preparing to build the above building (architect rendering) to increase our ability to provide more opportunities for the community, families and children, as an extension of those things God called this church to years ago.

- Host community support groups for those struggling with addictions and loss.

- Offer fun, safe opportunities for children to gather in the community- events with moon bounces, inflatables, food, after school programs for those who need help with school subjects, and fields for the kids to play sports.

- A vibrant, active congregation where people can come as they are to worship and learn from the Bible.

- A place for a nationwide ministry to take root and grow to provide for the orphans.

We have been given this 8+ acres to provide much needed spiritual, emotional, and physical needs for the community. This is a community church. It is part of our name and it is who we are. Will you help us build it?
