Visit the charity's profileThis year, CenterArts' primary focus is bringing nationally recognized musicians and performing artists to campus, providing invaluable master classes for Cal Poly Humboldt students. This initiative seeks to elevate the educational and artistic opportunities available to Humboldt students.
Past collaborations with the Music Department have been remarkable, showcasing diverse talents and enriching experiences. Notable instances include Liam Teague collaborating and performing with the Cal Poly Humboldt Calypso Band, Ryan Kerberle engaging with the Cal Poly Humboldt Jazz Orchestra, and the Masters of Hawaiian Music incorporating guitar students in an enlightening master class. These collaborations have elevated Humboldt’s musical landscape and provided unique learning opportunities for students.
In the upcoming season, the goal is to broaden master class offerings. Plans include flying in Jason Marsalis to collaborate with the Jazz Orchestra and engaging Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo to work closely with dance students. These callaborations are designed to further enrich the educational and artistic experiences at Cal Poly Humboldt.
