A lifeline of support to everyone living with Cauda Equina Syndrome

Cauda Equina Syndrome (CES) occurs when the 'Cauda Equina' nerves at the bottom of the spine are damaged, often by trauma or disc prolapse. This can result in devastating disability including severe back and leg pain, loss of feeling and sensation, and bowel, bladder and sexual dysfunction.

Cauda Equina Syndrome UK is part of Spinal Injuries Association. We want everyone living with CES to get the right information, find support and join with others to share their experience. As part of Spinal Injuries Association, people living with CES have immediate access to life-saving advocacy from our SCI nurse specialist service and the unique psychological support offered by our peer-led support network and professional counselling services.
