As an organization with more than a century of experience in caring for our community, the Valley of the Sun YMCA responds quickly to these challenges; creatively expanding our programs to meet our community when, where and how we are needed most.

Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we can continue to ensure the health, safety and well-being of every YMCA child and family. We are working to pave the way for a bright future to all of our community no matter their age, race, gender or socioeconomic status.

ADVANCING CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT

Y programs are committed to executing experiences rich in social/emotional learning because youth do better when they have supportive adults nurturing their potential.

In 2022, the Chandler/Gilbert Family YMCA will:

Provide preschool to 50 children per month

Serve over 100 youth daily in Summer Camp

Transport 40 youth daily for before and after school care

DROWNING PREVENTION

Y programs provide critical safety around water knowledge and teach swimming skills for youth and adults.

In 2022, the Chandler/Gilbert Family YMCA will:

Provide 500 youth with swim lessons

Conduct water safety classes in local schools

DEVELOPING COMMUNITY LEADERS

Y programs provide experiences that build a sense of belonging and welcome young people to develop their self-identity.

In 2022, the Chandler/Gilbert Family YMCA will:

Serve over 50 teens per month through community volunteer engagement, leadership development and mentorship opportunities

Provide 50 i-Learn students with a Y membership to engage them beyond the classroom in a safe, healthy space

STRENGTHENING FAMILIES

Y programs support parents in creating stronger families to lower child poverty, reduce social-isolation, increase positive health outcomes, and increase family income.

In 2022, the Chandler/Gilbert Family YMCA will: Provide 100 single parent and essential worker families with a Y membership
