College of Southern Idaho Cheer Program

CSI Cheer is made up of hardworking student-athletes who balance practices, classes, jobs, study hall, community service, and the pressures of college life while representing our community everywhere they go.

The College of Southern Idaho Foundation was founded in 1984 with one purpose: to provide scholarship and program support for the students at the College of Southern Idaho. Since that time the CSI Foundation has grown to become one of the nation's top 30 community college foundations.

Story

The College of Southern Idaho Cheer program is about so much more than trophies. It’s about building a family, creating opportunities, and giving young athletes from all backgrounds a place to belong, grow, and chase something bigger than themselves.

What started as a small-town junior college program with big dreams has grown into one of the most respected cheer programs in the country. CSI Cheer made history by winning back-to-back USA Collegiate National Championships in 2023 and 2024, followed by a National Runner-Up finish in 2025. This past season, the program took a leap onto one of the biggest stages in collegiate cheerleading — NCA Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida. In our first-ever appearance in the Advanced Junior College division on the iconic Bandshell, CSI placed 4th in the nation among powerhouse programs, proving that athletes from Southern Idaho can compete with anyone in the country.

But the heart of this program has never just been the banners.

CSI Cheer is made up of hardworking student-athletes who balance practices, classes, jobs, study hall, community service, and the pressures of college life while representing our community everywhere they go. Many are first-generation college students. Many came from small schools where opportunities like this once felt out of reach. Here, they find confidence, mentorship, leadership, and a second family that pushes them to become the best versions of themselves.

Every season begins at NCA Camp in Nevada, where our athletes train with elite instructors and compete to earn a bid to NCA Nationals in Daytona Beach. Camp is where routines begin to come to life, leadership is built, and team culture is formed. It is one of the most important investments of our season — and one of the biggest financial hurdles for a self-funded program.

Beyond competition, CSI Cheer helps bring life and energy to campus and our community. Our athletes support volleyball, basketball, soccer, softball, and baseball while participating in youth camps, community events, outreach opportunities, and activities that inspire the next generation of athletes in the Magic Valley. They are ambassadors for CSI everywhere they go.

As our program continues to grow, so do our needs. Fundraising directly supports:

• NCA Camp registration and travel

• NCA Nationals travel to Daytona Beach

• Game Day uniforms and sideline gear

• Poms, signs, and spirit materials

• Community outreach events and youth clinics

• Athlete support resources including study hall and mental health initiatives

Last season, over 80% of our sophomore athletes moved on to cheer or compete at four-year universities — something that does not happen every year and speaks volumes about the dedication, growth, and opportunities this program creates.

CSI Cheer exists because of people who believe in small-town athletes with big dreams. Every donation, sponsorship, and share helps keep those dreams alive. Thank you for supporting our athletes, investing in young leaders, and helping us continue building something special for Southern Idaho.
