Story

"The Turtle Won the Race" is a metaphor for life meaning the most determined, consistent, and persistent individual often enjoys the greatest fruits of success. We learned as children from Aesop's fable, The Tortoise and the Hare, that perseverance is rewarded.

In the case of Charleston Coffee Roasters, Lowell D Grosse, the owner and proprietor started his business in 2005 with the vision to make the highest quality coffee by sourcing organically grown beans from all around the world. Lowell also has the personal attributes and character that compelled him to build a company that is altruistic with a pledge to help the planet, and to give back to the community.

Charleston Coffee Roasters supports and promotes global sustainable farming practices. We support conservation efforts by partnering with worthy causes like the South Carolina Aquarium's Sea Turtle Care Center.

The Charleston Coffee Roasters logo is a coffee bean turtle. It is with great pride that Charleston Coffee Roasters advocates for Sea Turtles to promote their survival from man-made issues such boat strikes, ingesting plastics, get caught in netting, among other issues.

Join Me on My Journey!

My name is Chuck Troiani, I'm the Chief Bean Counter (or CFO) for Charleston Coffee Roasters. I will cycle 100 miles, or more, on Sunday, October 3rd to raise money for the South Carolina Aquarium's Sea Turtle Care Center. My goal is to raise $10,000. With your help and support, we can do it.

I plan to ride my bike through the Isle of Palms, then on to Sullivans Island, next through downtown Charleston, then on to Folly Beach, over to Johns Island, and finally finishing at the Kiawah Island Ocean course. Join me on my journey, donate, follow my blog posts, enjoy the pictures I post, and know that, together, we are making a difference. And ride along cyclists are welcome!

Friendly competition: when you make your donation, let me know what community you represent in your donation comments. Let's see which community has the biggest heart for sea turtles and can raise the most money - Charleston, Johns Island, Kiawah Island, Folly Beach, James Island, Sullivans Island, or Isle of Palms. You'll get special recognition on social media. And the top individual donor gets a case of Charleston Coffee Roasters' Beach Blend coffee.

Thank you for your support!
