Story
Cathedral Kitchen was founded in 1976 as a traditional soup kitchen, serving soup, sandwiches, and casseroles to neighbors experiencing food insecurity in Camden. Over the last 50 years, both the organization and its mission have grown alongside the needs of our guests. Today, with just under 50 employees, Cathedral Kitchen is the largest emergency meal provider in South Jersey and a pillar of the Camden community.
Through our meal service and outreach programs, Cathedral Kitchen has provided more than 5 million free meals over the past 50 years. But Cathedral Kitchen provides much more than meals. We use nourishing, joyful food as a way to connect people to community, social services, and employment opportunities. Meals are often the first step, but they open the door to much more.
If you, like me, feel inspired by Cathedral Kitchen’s mission and its proven track record of serving our community, I invite you to join me in supporting their 50th anniversary campaign.
