When I moved to the US from my home country, Bolivia, one of the things that kept me going during such a big transition was finding CrossFit. It gave me a supportive and INCLUSIVE community that helped me in so many ways.
Like many others, I started CrossFit 5 years ago with the goal of losing weight. I never hoped or expected to ever become a coach or own a gym. But life has its turns, and now I do both and I am ready to do more. I want to start an ADAPTIVE TRAINING PROGRAM.
The idea for this program all started with a member of my family who is visually impaired. I noticed how hard it was for her to find a place to express her body's ability to move. Finding the guidance, equipment, and know-how was nearly impossible. So I decided to take the ATA Adaptive Training Certification (CrossFit® Adaptive at the time) to help this family member in her fitness journey. But one thing leads to another, and I became a coach, and a few years later, I started my gym. Now Im at a point in my life that I want to give something back to this amazing community and fulfill my biggest dream. That is, to be able to provide the same support, kindness, and inclusiveness that CrossFit has shown me to the entire adaptive community in my hometown Lancaster, PA.

I want to start an ADAPTIVE TRAINING PROGRAM at my gym, CrossFit Uncompromised, the "[THIS]Ability Adaptive Training Program" dedicated to individuals with Down syndrome or visual impairments. To make this possible, we need specific equipment, training and certifications for staff, safety measures, and transportation to provide the best service and guidance possible.
Please consider donating to this cause. My next goal is to transform this into a non-profit foundation one day, but one step at a time.
