The Cultural Fire Club is working to provide culturally competent training opportunities for tribal youth and beyond. Many fire certification trainings are inaccessible to students, as they are usually only offered through working for a fire agency. One of the club's goals is to bring training to the students. Typical fire certification training also focuses on the operational side of fire, and the club wants to bring in cultural fire knowledge to create a holistic approach to fire stewardship. Your gift can help the club host local Western and cultural fire practitioners and pay them for their time. These training opportunities allow Native and non-Native students to pursue their certifications or develop their cultural understanding of fire without sacrificing their education.

Another goal of the Cultural Fire Club is to grow the club's stockroom. Many plants burned for cultural purposes require particular treatment to ensure the health of the people using the plants. An example would be burning plants for cooking baskets with propane rather than diesel gas. Propane tanks, hand tools, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are all items the Cultural Fire Club hopes to purchase with support from this effort.
