NCWC Sports Medicine has been an integral part of Bishop Athletics for over 30 years. When Ms. Carol Carson came here in the fall of 1987, she found there was limited equipment, supplies and space. Her early efforts helped grow the department to what it is today.

Currently our sports medicine team is responsible for the daily healthcare of the entire student-athlete population, serving nearly 500 athletes simultaneously. Treatments may vary from immediate first aid and wound control to daily post-operative surgical rehabilitation. Our athletic trainers also are on the sideline of practices and games and provide essential healthcare coverage that keeps our Battling Bishops safe.

The work that we do as athletic trainers on a daily basis also goes beyond the physical care they provide during treatments, and practice coverage. We also make an impact on the student-athletes and develop lasting relationships with these student-athletes. For example, we provide assistance for coping with the emotional trauma of season or career ending injuries. Guiding them to the next phase of their life is not something most people think of, but it is essential.

Our Allied HealthCare Professionals are committed to providing the highest quality healthcare to the student athletes every day. A donation to our program will go towards purchasing new modality units and therapy equipment in order to compete in todays dynamically evolving medical field.
