Our mission is to end poverty one community at a time by investing in and operating faith-driven, locally-owned, sustainable social enterprises that break cycles of dependency, and restore hope and dignity.

Story

After graduating from Colorado State University in December, I will be moving to Iganga, Uganda and starting my position as the Communications and Intern Coordinator and working with the Executive Director in different business development roles. I am humbled and honored to be a part of such an incredible team. During my time there, my major responsibilities will be to keep US stakeholders informed about what is happening at Musana and to work with international interns. I will also be working with leadership to generate, implement, and evaluate business/strategic plans.

I fell in love with Musana Community Development Organization when I was a junior in high school. I've been praying for this job ever since! At the time, I was inspired by the people I met, the stories I heard, and the work I was able to see. When I interned with Musana through the summer of 2018, I fell more in love, with the people, the culture, and their mission. Musana has been a second home and I AM STOKED to be reunited with some of the people I love most!

Different than most non-governmental organizations around the world, Musana's mission is to see the lives of the most vulnerable transformed through the restoration of dignity and sustainable solutions. Today, Musana is thriving. It has reached 38,000 community members, employs 283 people, has invested $3,500,000 in infrastructure, and is 100% sustainable in Ugandan operations. Yes friends, you read that right... 100% SUSTAINABLE!! That means if all funds from the US ceased to exist, Musana could still operate! Their sustainable model is being replicated in Kaliro District and they are continuing to grow stronger day by day. Musana empowers local Ugandans to be the change in their community and I am out of my mind excited to get to walk alongside them.

Friends, this is the DREAM JOB. I am in awe of the transformation God has done through Musana in the lives of thousands of people; I am thrilled to be a part of telling their stories. I am excited to lead international interns and support them as they navigate a completely different culture. Musana has been such a beautiful illustration of Gods power, restoration, and love and I am confident that all the future interns will get to see Him at work as well. Working with Andrea Kazindra, the Executive Director and cofounder is such a blessing. I am inspired by her passion and wisdom and I cannot wait to learn from her. God is so faithful and has designed this job specifically for me. He's taken my experience of communication and storytelling, my education in finance and business development, my passion for people and relationships, and my love of Uganda and Musana CDO and stitched them all together.
