Story
Cal Poly Humboldt Engineering is committed to preparing students for successful careers by connecting classroom learning with real-world experience. As our School of Engineering continues to grow, including new undergraduate programs, the need for accessible, high-quality internships has never been greater. Internships provide students with critical hands-on experience, professional connections, and a clearer pathway into the workforce—opportunities that can shape their long-term success and confidence as emerging engineers.
To meet this need, we are raising funds for the Engineering Internship Experience Fund, which will support the hiring of a dedicated, part-time Internship Coordinator. This role will focus on building relationships with industry partners, expanding internship opportunities, and ensuring that students across all engineering majors can access meaningful, paid placements. By strengthening these connections, we can open doors for more students to gain practical experience while also deepening partnerships with employers who value Cal Poly Humboldt talent.
With Giving Day on April 8, there is an exciting opportunity to amplify your impact. Thanks to a generous $5,000 matching gift from SHN Consulting Engineers & Geologists, Inc., every donation will go even further in supporting internship access for our students. Your contribution helps create transformative opportunities, empowering the next generation of engineers with the experience and connections they need to thrive.
Make your gift today and double your impact—help Humboldt Engineering students gain the experience, connections, and confidence to launch their careers.
