Story
As the cost of living soars including the high cost of gas, housing and other essentials, Canadians are feeling the economic pinch. Food prices, in particular, have hit all-time highs. In fact, Canadians paid nearly 10% more for groceries this August compared to the same time last year. The need has never been greater for vulnerable students as more students than ever are relying on donations from The Sharing Shop to make ends meet.
We are encouraging our Fanshawe family and friends to help by making a secure online donation this Giving Tuesday toward the purchase of grocery gift cards for Fanshawe students. Last year, the Fanshawe community generously came together on Giving Tuesday and funded over $15,000 worth of groceries for Fanshawe students. Unfortunately, the need is even greater this year.
Our goal is to buy one day's worth of groceries for at least 1,500 Fanshawe students. Any amount will help Fanshawe students access the necessities: a $10 donation will buy students groceries for one day; a $75 donation will support a student for a week; a $300 donation will help a student purchase groceries for an entire month!
All donations up to $10,000 will even be matched dollar-for-dollar by The Alumni Association which means you can double the impact of your gift!
You can feel great knowing every dollar of your gift will support Fanshawe students. You'll also be issued a charitable tax receipt from Fanshawe College Foundation.
Thank you for your generosity as we enter the holiday season. Your donation will make a real difference to Fanshawe students who need it most.
