Story
Nursing students from Fontbonne's Class of 2024 and 2025 will travel to Guatemala to work with a non-profit organization to serve the health needs of underprivileged communities in Guatemala.
The people of Guatemala receive essential health care and education from nursing students that would not otherwise be available. This service-learning opportunity helps nursing students to gain an understanding of cultural and global health issues.
This work aligns with the mission of the University to provide "transformative education committed to the common good, inspiring students to become global citizens who think critically and act ethically to create a more just world" as well as the mission of our founders the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet who worked to "serve the dear neighbor."
The funds raised here will be used to help cover the costs of this trip which includes lodging, meals, travel, and medical translators. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.
