Summer can be the hungriest time of year for families facing food insecurity, as children lose access to daily school meals. Parents are often left to provide at least 10 extra meals each week, per child — placing immense strain on already tight budgets.

To help meet this urgent need, Food Lion Feeds and WCTI NewsChannel 12 are teaming up with the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina for a week-long food drive — and we need your help!

With hunger at a 20-year high and more than 607,000 neighbors — including 168,000 school-age children and teens — struggling to access nutritious food, your support is more vital than ever.
