Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation’s primary purpose is to raise funds and awareness to further the improvement of health care in the facilities and programs operated, funded or endorsed by the Fraser Health Authority within the Fraser Valley Regional Hospital District through providing the best medical equipment, programs and facilities, to better serve the communities of Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack, Hope, Agassiz and Harrison Hot Springs. The Foundation provides funding to supplement monies available from the government for the benefit of health care services within Fraser East of the Fraser Health Authority. This area is also known as the Fraser Valley Regional Hospital District include: Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission, Hope, Agassiz and Harrison Hot Springs. Story

Opened in 1959, Fraser Canyon Hospital is a 10-bed community hospital located in Hope, providing emergency care stabilization and triage 24 hours a day/7 days a week, which is a critical service due to its geographic isolation and the large volume of vehicles that converge in the area via several major highways. There is also general medicine, medical imaging and ambulatory care services, supported by an integrated network of community-based programs and services, ranging from health promotion and prevention to residential and hospice care. In 2017, Fraser Canyon Hospital saw 11,504 Emergency Room visits, provided care to 502 inpatients and experienced 15,672 visits to ambulatory care.

Fraser Canyons ED needs four new stretchers, which can be costly but are vitally important in order to care for emergency patients.
