Fred was a legendary figure who touched the lives of thousands in ways even we never fully grasped. Freds entire career centered around children, from coaching basketball at Grady High School to his days as the Dean there. However, providing a place for children to call home over the summer, to gain independence and sometimes re-invent themselves was by far the most meaningful to him and, along with our mother, Minna, one of his greatest accomplishments.
His real joy was sitting around reminiscing with all our campers and alumni about the bonds created at the 'mont. Please know all of the happiness and laughs he brought to all of you couldn't touch the joy you gave to him. The outpouring of support and love from our Westmont family is helping us all get through this difficult time.
The seeds have clearly been planted all around the Westmont world and you have all bloomed around his incredible life.
To honor our fathers memory, we have created a SCOPE fund in Fred's name.
For those of you not familiar with http://www.scopeusa.org (Summer Camp Opportunities Promote Education), is the national nonprofit organization providing children from underserved communities with life changing opportunities through the experience of overnight summer camp.
Thank you, Minna Moskowitz, Ross Moskowitz & Lainie Levy.
