Garrison Cox Uganda Project

Instead of gifts for his 70th birthday, Garrison is asking his friends to help thousands of people in a refugee camp in Uganda have access to safe water.
Instead of gifts for his 70th birthday, Garrison is asking his friends to help thousands of people in a refugee camp in Uganda have access to safe water.
Faith Olupot, a long-time friend of WaterStep who lives in Uganda contacted her father, Pastor Emmanuel Olupot after she heard that a borehole in the Bidibidi Refugee camp had broken down. Faith knows because her friend Bella from South Sudan lives in that camp – in the West Nile district at the point where the countries of Uganda, South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo meet. This borehole provided 10,000 people with drinking water, including Bella, before it broke down.
Faith asked her father to contact WaterStep because the organization has helped thousands in their community for the past decade. Since the borehole is broken, Bella and many others like her have to walk until they find another source of water, putting them in danger of being attacked, kidnapped or raped.
Faith wants to help her friend and all the other women. This project will cost $7,500. Instead of gifts for his 70th birthday, Garrison is asking his friends to help Faith’s friend Bella and the thousands of others in this refugee camp who need safe water.
