Story

This summer, Oakton students have the incredible opportunity to study at the University of Ghana for three and a half weeks, immersing themselves in the country's rich history, vibrant culture, and dynamic communities. Study abroad experiences have the power to transform lives, yet for many students, the financial burden makes them seem out of reach. Determined to turn this dream into reality, these students are working hard to raise the funds needed to embark on this life-changing journey in June 2025.

Oakton’s Student Government Association has generously issued a $10,000 challenge grant, aiming to match every dollar raised, up to $10,000, by end of March. To meet this goal, we’re calling on 100 supporters to give $100 or more by April 1.

By coming together, we can unlock the full match and provide vital funding to help these aspiring students embark on this transformative journey. Thank you for your consideration and support!

The cost to participate in this study abroad experience is $8,000 per student, which includes airfare, tuition, housing, meals, local transportation, and incidental expenses.
