A century ago, two visionaries Edward W. Scripps, publishing magnate, and William Emerson Ritter, a California zoologist founded Science News and Society for Science & the Public (originally called Science Service) with the goal of keeping the public informed of scientific achievements and debates.
Through the decades Society for Science & the Public has expanded beyond delivering award-winning science journalism via Science News and Science News for Students, by producing world renowned education competitions Regeneron Science Talent Search, Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair, and Broadcom MASTERS, and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM through Science News in High Schools, STEM Action and Research Grants, the Advocate Program, and the Research Teachers Conferences. Your donation today supports all these efforts.
