We're fundraising to help peers our age write a new generational story for their families. In a country where many adults have a 6th grade education or less, and where 1 in 5 students are statistically likely to graduate high school, data shows that participation in Common Hope's programs distinctly increases the likelihood of graduation and expands the possibilities for a better life. Common Hope students graduate between 3-4 times the national average.
What impact is our fundraiser making? Life in Guatemala exhibits a striking duality of brilliance and socio-economic challenge. Many households face financial constraints preventing them from sending their children to school. Common Hope recognizes the pivotal role education plays in equipping Guatemalan families to overcome socioeconomic challenges. By encouraging whole family and parent participation, providing students with educational opportunities and the necessary tools and resources, Common Hope's programs in education, healthcare, housing, and family development aim to create a lasting difference for communities in a changing Guatemala.
