This great event provides Holy Cross Academy families with an opportunity for a fun day and chilly February dip in the Atlantic while raising money for Holy Cross Academy. In the past Holy Cross Academy has been a leader in fundraising. Let's make 2023 the best year yet!
The 2023 Polar Bear Plunge will be held on Sunday, February 5th in Sea Bright, NJ with anticipated "plunge" time of 12:30 pm. We have also made arrangements with Rory"s Pub in Sea Bright to provide us with a warm and cozy spot to gather both pre & post plunge. More details will follow as we finalize our plans with Rory's. (please check Parent Square for updates and more details in the coming weeks)
Individual participants or teams of the event raise or pledge money in order to participate. You do not have to be a plunger to raise money. In addition participants (plungers) pay a $25 registration fee and also must submit a signed waiver (the waiver will be provided to you upon check in at Rory's). Once the the $25 registration fee is received (payment submitted through Parent Square) the participant will receive a special sign up gift!
Getting pledges is made easy as creating a link to this campaign. You will be able to add your own pictures and story and the link will be sharable across all social media and can also be shared via email. Prizes will be awarded for top individual, team, student and class fundraisers, so let's get going!!

For those not willing to brave the chilly Atlantic this February 5th, students, family and friends can pledge money to sponsor someone or just make a donation directly to the Holy Cross Academy PTA.
First, it's a great time for a greater cause and fun for everyone involved. Further, all donations collected through the Polar Bear Plunge go directly to HCA to help fulfill it's mission to enrich our children's educational experience and help further the school's mission to educate the next generation of Catholic leaders.
Raise $150 or more and have your family name put on its own Polar Bear sign. Which will be prominently displayed on the Holy Cross Academy campus. This is a great way to show your HCA pride so let's turn the school grounds into the North Pole!
Raise $300 or more and receive an HCA beach towel. This great item will not only be most welcome on February 5th but will also be a great way to show your HCA pride all summer long at the beach, pool, or lake. Your family will also receive a Polar Bear Sign with a blue flag.
Raise $500 or more and you will receive two HCA beach towels to really show your HCA pride this summer. In addition your family's Polar Bear sign will have a yellow flag showing your are Powerhouses!
As a special incentive this year our very own Mr. McCarrick has pledged to lead the charge into the ocean on the 5th if we can meet our goal of $30,000. While $30,000 may seem like a daunting number I know we can make it happen. And as an added incentive the Plunger who collects the highest dollar amount of donations will get to choose a special swimsuit for Mr. McCarrick to wear while plunging.
Remember to please ask your employer if they match employees donations. This opportunity presents an additional source of income for Holy Cross Academy and an easy way to leverage a gift into a larger donation. Check with your human resources department. The Holy Cross Academy is an approved Non-Profit and qualifies for corporate matching.

3. From there you will be bought to your page where you can edit and add Names, and reason for plunging. Do not change the amount of $30k to be raised
