Visit the charity's profileOn Sunday, May 4th the Ipaye Family lost a dear husband and father. Our hearts and prayers go out to Idowu Ipaye's wife and two small children. In an effort to support the Ipaye Family, we are inviting our staff, partners and the community to provide monetary donations to help Idowus family navigate this tragedy.
Originally from Ondo, Nigeria, Idowu Ipaye began working at Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas in 2018 as a Residential Counselor where he supported clients living in one of our group homes in our Prince Georges Behavioral Health (PGBH) program in Bowie, MD. The low-income clients in our PGBH program are some of the most vulnerable individuals in the community. One of the things Idowu enjoyed most about working in the program was being able to help those most in need.
People who knew Idowu best would describe him as passionate. Anything Idowu did, he did 100%. This was also true in his role as a husband. His wife Olaide knew Idowu to be a loving husband, one who could always read her mind. He was the type of man who even after a long day of work would step in to lend his wife a helping hand at home when he sensed that she needed it.
Idowu was also a passionate and loving father to his son Micah (3) and his daughter Makayla (1). Olaide described seeing his children smile and laugh as some of Idowus favorite moments.
Your support is greatly appreciated and will bring much needed relief to the Ipaye Family. Thank you in advance for your giving hearts!
