Kobie has a remarkable track record of supporting our community, particularly the St. Pete Free Clinic (SPFC). With the support of our family and friends, we made significant contributions of over $200,000 throughout the past couple of years, solidifying Kobie as one of the leading community-funded contributors to the SPFC.
Our dedication to supporting the community is channeled through the Jared S. Hechtkopf Community Food Bank and is something that is deeply personal to Kobie. The Food Bank, named in honor of our founder and made possible through generous donations from Bonnie–our co-founder and Chairwoman, serves as the starting point for nourishment to our neighbors facing food insecurity. To provide some context, more than 134,000 residents in Pinellas County, where Kobie is headquartered, struggle with food insecurity.
With the rising cost of groceries and the cost of living in general, the Clinic has experienced an unprecedented surge in demand for its services as families and individuals who never anticipated needing assistance reach out for help. To show the increase in demand, in 2018, the St. Pete Free Clinic distributed approximately 5 million pounds of food throughout the year. In 2021 and 2022, this rose to over 20M pounds of food distributed annually to hungry families.
As a Top Workplace and recognized Forrester Leader, we are always on the lookout for exceptional talent. To this end, we are introducing a novel position at Kobie - The Chief Cuteness Officer. This one-of-a-kind role includes daily walks, plenty of treats, and cuddle sessions. To fill this coveted position, we are hosting a "Cutest Paw-mate Fundraiser," where the pet raising the most funds will be crowned the successful candidate.
