You can help Leah get back to doing what she loves most—exploring the outdoors with her son.
Leah is a devoted wife, mom, and lifelong adventurer. For years, she and her husband Bob hiked Acadia National Park, enjoyed concerts, and embraced every opportunity to be outside. When their son was born in 2018, she passed that love of nature on to him—sharing hikes, fishing trips, and foraging adventures in the woods near their home.
In October 2022, Leah’s world changed when a tractor trailer forced her car off the road and into a pole, causing catastrophic injuries to her spine and shoulder. After multiple surgeries and months of rehab, Leah was diagnosed as a paraplegic.
But this isn’t a story about what she lost—it’s about what she’s determined to reclaim.
Today, Leah is focused on rebuilding her life with strength and purpose. She’s working hard to adapt to her new normal and stay active with her family. What she needs now is a lightweight, everyday manual wheelchair—one that fits her body and lifestyle—so she can move freely, stay healthy, and continue creating memories with her son outdoors.
Your support makes that possible.
Help Leah keep moving forward—and show her that her community is with her every step of the way.
Note: Donations to IM ABLE cannot be legally earmarked for specific individuals, funds raised through this campaign will support an adaptive equipment grant for Leah. Any additional funds will help other individuals with similar needs reclaim their active lives.
