Heritage Toronto is a charity and arms-length agency of the City of Toronto. Through our accessible programs, including Tours, Plaques, Awards, and Emerging Historians, we work to build a better city by bringing people together to explore Toronto’s shared past and people’s lived experiences.

Story

Started in 2002 by Toronto's poet laureate Dennis Lee, the Toronto Legacy Project marks where outstanding individuals lived and worked with blue historical plaques. More than 60 plaques are located around the city.
