As an organization with more than a century of experience in caring for our community, the Valley of the Sun YMCA responds quickly to these challenges; creatively expanding our programs to meet our community when, where and how we are needed most.

Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we can continue to ensure the health, safety and well-being of every YMCA child and family. We are working to pave the way for a bright future to all of our community no matter their age, race, gender or socioeconomic status.

OUR MISSION

The Valley of the Sun YMCAs mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all.

OUR CAUSE

At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

ADVANCING CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT

Y programs provide experiences rich in social and emotional learning because youth can achieve their potential when they are nurtured by supportive adults.

In 2024, the Y will:

• Provide 30 months of free childcare for the Lincoln YMCA Early Leaning & After School participants.

ENGAGING OPPORTUNITY YOUTH

The Y provides youth ages 16-24 with pathways to employment, shelter, food and the opportunity to reach their full potential.

In 2024, the Y will:

• Provide 65 additional young adults ages 18-24 with emergency housing and community resources through the comprehensive PHX350 program. This program provides up to 90 days of emergency housing and resources to help homeless young adults secure essential services such as food, healthcare, mental health services, long-term housing, and workforce development.

PROMOTING HEALTHY LIVING

Y membership and wellness programs can improve the health and well-being of our community to reduce chronic disease, obesity, and improve mental health. In 2024, the Y will:

• Provide YMCA memberships to 20 adults with disabilities so they can meet new friends and gain the support they need to live a more active and healthy lifestyle through our Y-ADAPT program.
