The programs of Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) have been deemed essential during this unprecedented time of the novel coronavirus COVID-19. Your support is needed. Your gift today ensures that LSSI staff can continue to provide services and critical care to those in need. More than 50,000 people depend on LSSI and we will continue to be there for them as we operate within the guidelines provided by Gov. Pritzker and the Centers for Disease Control to ensure the safety of clients and staff. Our Pandemic Plan Review Committee meets daily to respond quickly to developments related to COVID-19 and keep employees safe and available to those in need.
We are thankful to our dedicated staff who work on the front-lines of pandemic response. Our social workers, home care aids, children's services staff, and behavioral health care workers are working tirelessly to care for children, adults, and families across Illinois.

Our Children's Services staff are working virtually to support foster care families who are providing a safe home for children during this pandemic, and Intact Services families to ensure they have the resources they need to get through this time.
LSSI's Project IMPACT teams continue to operate in five Emergency Departments, working to alleviate ED staff of any patients who need behavioral health care rather than physical health care.
Mental Health clinicians in programs like Step-Up School-Based Counseling have moved to virtually counseling students while they are at home, and working with their families to relieve anxieties and uncertainties.
Your support ensures that LSSI staff can continue to provide services to those in need during this pandemic.
Thank you!
