Story
Beginning November 26th leading up to #GivingTuesday on November 30th, we will be sharing the story of one child's battle, a battle that too many children face.
Brooklyn was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia at the onset of the pandemic, during a time of uncertainty when visiting hospitals presented a huge risk for children who are already immunocompromised. She would undergo 4 rounds of chemotherapy, totaling 132 days of treatment as well as a stem-cell transplant from an unrelated donor. 100 days into her recovery from her transplant, Brooklyn's biopsy showed positive results and she went into remission. Unfortunately, just as Brooklyn was dropping to monthly appointments, doctors discovered a return of leukemia cells; Brooklyn had relapsed. There was just one treatment track for Brooklyn, which she continues on today.
By being a part of #GivingTuesday, you're ensuring safer and more effective treatment options and potentially life-saving clinical trials for kids like Brooklyn and others like her who are battling childhood cancer and related blood disorders.
