Story
Mariachi Mar Pacífico is a student-led ensemble rooted in community, culture, and pride. Members don’t just play music—they celebrate heritage, build connections, and bring vibrant performances to campus and beyond.
From performing for K–8 students across Humboldt County to participating in campus traditions like Cinco de Mayo and Latinx Graduation, the group proudly shares the richness of mariachi with the community.
But here’s the challenge: music is expensive.
Right now, most members supply their own instruments. That means talented, passionate students who want to join often can’t—simply because they can’t afford it.
That’s where you come in.
Support will help purchase instruments that can be shared and loaned out, removing barriers and opening the door for more students to participate, learn, and belong.
Why It Matters
This isn’t just about instruments—it’s about access, representation, and opportunity.
With support, this effort can:
🎶 Welcome more students into the ensemble
🎶 Preserve and celebrate cultural traditions
🎶 Expand performances across campus and the community
🎶 Ensure that passion—not finances—determines who gets to play
Mariachi Mar Pacífico is currently the only mariachi club on campus, and with support, it can grow into something even more impactful.
