The Detroit Mercy men's golf program remains committed to providing a positive team experience. We work to give each student-athlete the opportunity to achieve his full potential, both on and off the golf course. Your gift provides important resources to sustain and enhance the student-athlete experience and maintain the momentum behind years of success, on and off the playing field.
Our funding need for the rest of the year is $40,000. Your gift will help offset the expenses of our spring season travel budget and, more importantly, help us with the renovation of our indoor practice facility within Calihan Hall, including adding launch monitor technology and new flooring for our practice area. We are partnering with the Women's Golf team to raise the funds needed for the renovations. These renovations will save us money as we will no longer need to pay for indoor practice facilities at other places once they are completed.
Men's golf was reinstated as a varsity sport at the University in 1977 and, since that time, has become one of Detroit Mercy's strongest intercollegiate programs. With its last title in 2010, Detroit Mercy has now won seven Horizon League golf titles, the second most of any conference member in Horizon League history. The Titans have reached a zenith in the last 20 years by winning their conference championship six times, while finishing second on five occasions and a pair of third-place efforts.
Your gift will help the Titans men's golf team remain a competitive program in the Horizon League and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), and will benefit the student-athletes as they reach their goals on the course, in the classrooms, and in the community.
As a supporter of the University, you understand what an impact your gift can make. Thank you for your continued support!
