It's time for our program's largest annual fundraiser phone-a-thon. The success of our program is a joint effort and we need your help in accomplishing our goal! Funds raised will directly support the operating budget of the track & field team for things like training and competition equipment, travel, and student-athlete scholarships. Your donation will help ensure we provide the most competitive environment for our team to develop and thrive, and the positive meaningful educational experience that every student-athlete deserves.
Last spring our conference returned to hosting CCAA Championships for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic. Our programs qualified 33 student-athletes to the championships, and we came away with 2 individual Conference Champions and 6 All-Conference performances, in addition to the Men's Elite 13 Award for the student-athlete with the highest GPA of any men's track and field athlete competing at the championships. Throughout the season our teams set 7 new program top-10 records. Academically, both of our Women's and Men's Track & Field teams earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors, and Rosa Granados was named an All-Academic Athlete for her GPA and achieving a provisional qualifying mark for the NCAA DII National Championship. Additionally, 12 of our teammates were named to the CCAA All-Academic Honor Roll for 3.3+ GPA's. Throughout this fall, we've been studying and training hard and we're optimistic about the growth and competitiveness of our team. Time trials, mock competitions, and weight room numbers have been impressive, and we're also extremely excited about the new recruits we'll be welcoming to our squad in the coming spring and fall semesters.
It's a very exciting time to be a Cal Poly Humboldt student-athlete! We've seen significant promise recently toward increasing the competitiveness of our department and our team. Last spring we hired alumni All-American and school record holder decathlete Teigan Eilers as the track and field team's full-time assistant coach which has added tremendous bandwidth to better support our student-athletes. This spring the Athletic Department will debut a new strength training facility for student-athletes which will pave the way as the first of many exciting campus and athletics facility plan updates coming soon! We appreciate your continued support of our program, and we rely on your partnership to bring our goals to fruition.
