Story

Join us as we take action for the Boston Public Library!

At a time when public libraries across the country have become threatened by policies that have led to the banning of books and the cancellation of events and programs, the BPL remains a model for the free-sharing of information and access to education.

The BPLs ecosystem, comprised of 25 branches as well as the Central Library in Copley Square and hundreds of dedicated staff, thrives on the many ways that patrons of all ages make use of the Librarys resources and offerings. In celebration of that ecosystem, and in an effort to tell more of the story that defines the BPL, were asking our community to rally together to help us to raise $100,000 during National Library Week. By taking action to support the BPL, we can raise our collective voice and shout out the importance of the public library as a resource where books should never be banned, access to information is always free, and opportunity is just a library card away.
