Community Health Practicum 🩺
A key component of the Nursing Program is the community health practicum. This hands-on learning experience deepens students’ understanding of the nursing profession and their community. The practicum also makes students eligible to become CA Public Health Nurses upon program completion.
To enroll in the course, students must meet various compliance requirements. This compliance tracking software adds a significant cost to our students who are already paying for tuition, textbooks, and other expenses. Your gift—matched dollar-for-dollar up to $2,500 by Robin Smith ('78, Nursing)—can help cover a portion of these costs and support students as they care for our community.
In-Person Intensives 🤝
Once per semester, students come together on the Cal Poly Humboldt campus for a weekend of experiential learning through guest speakers, collaborative projects, and team building. During this time, students connect with their peers and professors in person for the first time each semester—it’s a crucial part of the program.
Your gift today, especially with the added boost of the $2,500 match from Robin Smith ('78, Nursing), can help cover intensive-related expenses like student travel, food, event preparation, and team-building exercises.
Make a gift today to help Nursing students build connections and strengthen care in our community—while doubling your impact. 💛
