The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileStudy abroad experiences are life-changing for students, yet many never even dream of participating, due to the financial investment required. This year, six Oakton students are planning to study in Ghana at a cost of $8,000 each, which includes airfare, tuition, housing, meals, local transportation, and incidental expenses. These students are working hard to raise the financial resources needed to make this June 2023 trip a reality.
Dr. Eric Witherspoon, former Evanston Township High School superintendent, and Dr. Joianne Smith, president of Oakton College, have issued a challenge -- 100 people each giving $100 by March 24 to raise $10,000 toward the goal!
Please join Dr. Witherspoon and Dr. Smith in supporting our students as they endeavor to study at the University of Ghana for 3-1/2 weeks and travel throughout the country to expand their understanding of the history, culture, and community of Ghana.
We are very grateful to Oakton's Student Government Association and the Oakton College Educational Foundation's Board of Directors for committing $10,000 and $13,000 respectively to support the Ghana study abroad fund!
