Dear Friends,

As some of you may be aware, I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on March 11th 2021. Shortly thereafter I began treatments at the TriHeath Cancer Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio. Surrounded by faith, the support of family, friends, my prayer warriors, an outstanding medical team as well as complete strangers, I moved forward with treatments to a point where surgery became an option in late August, The surgery was successful in removing the tumor with all margins and biopsies negative. My surgeon used the term "miraculous" in describing where I am as compared to where I started. On September 21st I will begin follow up treatments to make sure we close the door on this challenging disease.

As I went through the course of treatments at the TriHealth Infusion Center, I began observing that there are patients facing challenging circumstances above and beyond their particular disease and treatment regime. Challenges including but not limited to the loss of employment, insufficient resources to pay utility bills, buy food, cover prescriptions and transportation to and from treatment.

Many of you have asked if there is anything Cathy and I need or if there is anything that you can do to help us during this time. To this end and in conjunction with the TriHealth Cancer Institute we are establishing the PC Strong fund that will proved resources to those in need during the course of their treatments. All funds will be managed and distributed by the social work team at the TriHealth Cancer Institute and be given directly to those with needs to help mitigate the individual challenges detailed above.
