Story

In 2022, the Physics and Engineering Department launched a program to help incoming first-year students prepare and engage in a physics/STEM major by providing academic skills building, engagement in making and technical activities, and building a community of learners! Many students enter Augsburg with a passion or interest in science but may struggle with mathematical preparation or not realize the diversity of opportunities a degree in physics, math, etc. can provide. Three years ago we began addressing this by creating a new course Exploring Science and Engineering.

Your support will help us provide stipends to students for participation in this summer program, provide materials for making activities (rocket parts, Arduinos, 3D printing), community building (lunches, etc.), and provide support for mentors and tutors. Donations to Project Launch can be used to receive matching funds from the Minnesota Area NASA Space Grant Consortium for other STEM activities.
