Since 2001, KidSmart has distributed more than $98 Million in FREE essential tools, supplies, and resources to over 220,000 students. With your help, we can continue ensuring that all students have these supplies and reach over $100 Million in total distributed school supplies this school year.

KidSmart is one of 48 similar grassroots organizations throughout the country working to increase the educational opportunities of children living in underserved communities. KidSmart has grown exponentially since 2001, and thanks to the generous support of individuals, foundations, and corporations, we are now able to distribute more than $8 million in educational materials annually to 90,000 economically disadvantaged students in the St Louis area.

At KidSmart, we ensure under-resourced children have the supplies they need to succeed through three key ways. Our "Free Store" allows teachers to select essential items for their classrooms, while our "On The Go" program delivers supplies directly to schools. We also host seasonal "Drive Thru" events, making it easy to access materials. This vital work is made possible by a community-wide collaboration, transforming products donated by individuals and corporations into a consistent, reliable resource for children who are most vulnerable in our education system.

When students have the supplies they need, they are more likely to thrive. Studies and experience show a strong correlation: test scores often rise, absenteeism frequently drops, and disruptive behavior tends to decrease.

Access to these essential tools doesn't just improve classroom behavior; it significantly empowers children, helping them overcome challenging situations at home by fostering a sense of readiness and belonging.
