Story
In May 2022, a severe storm swept through our community and destroyed our handicap-accessible walkway the leads to our lakeside patio beyond repair.
We have a plan to solve this problem, but we need your help!
The engineers from Douglas County Soil & Water Conservation District created a solution to "naturalize" 500 feet of lakeshore with native flowers and grasses. This includes reusing pavers to make a new patio, improving water runoff, and investing in a nature trail with seating areas to create an accessible outdoor space.
The ability to move freely and comfortably around campus is not only a matter of convenience but also a matter of dignity and independence for residents.
Will you give today to solve this issue and significantly enhance the overall experience of residents and their families? You can improve accessibility and most importantly promote a sense of empowerment and connection to the larger campus community.
With your support, we can improve the experience for everyone at Bethel Manor & Winona Shores!
