Story
One urgent goal: protect both Rich City Rides properties
Rich City Rides’ shared campaign goal is $725,000 by December 31, 2026, to protect 1434 Macdonald Avenue and 1525 Ohio Avenue—the properties intended to house the West County Mobility Hub and Black Wellness Hub.
Together, we have transformed cycling into a tool for health, joy, and justice. Since 2012, Rich City Rides has brought Richmond residents together through community rides, youth mentorship, bicycle repair and safety education, and access to reliable transportation. Protecting these properties is essential to carrying that work forward.
Why the deadline matters
The West County Mobility Hub at 1434 Macdonald Avenue is envisioned as a community home for safe, affordable transportation, bicycle access, repair education, youth opportunity, and neighborhood connection.
The Black Wellness Hub at 1525 Ohio Avenue is envisioned as a community-led space for health, healing, creativity, family support, connection, and economic opportunity.
Neither vision can move forward as planned if the properties are not secured.
How every donation will be used
Donations made through this main campaign and its connected West County Mobility Hub and Black Wellness Hub fundraising pages will be combined and first applied by our fiscal sponsor, Urban Tilth, toward satisfying the shared property obligation protecting both locations. The $725,000 public target includes an allowance for donation-processing costs so the required funds can reach Urban Tilth.
Until the shared property obligation is satisfied, gifts made through the connected project pages are not reserved for individual project programming or buildout.
After the shared obligation is satisfied
Additional donations made directly to this main campaign will support Rich City Rides operations and its next phase of community service. Additional donations made through the connected Mobility Hub page will support the West County Mobility Hub, and additional donations made through the connected Wellness page will support the Black Wellness Hub.
How donations are handled
Donations are made to Urban Tilth, our 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor, and restricted for the Rich City Rides project. Urban Tilth has approved the allocation described above.
