With a devastating cancer diagnosis, Alexis and her family found comfort in the cuddles and calming presence of Posey, the hospital facility dog in our PAWS program at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children. During Alexis’s time in the hospital, Posey and the Child Life Team provided care and comfort and enabled their family to focus on spending time together. When Alexis transitioned to hospice care, Posey provided her with a special kind of relief that nothing else could.

After Everleigh and her twin sister Scarlett were born, Everleigh needed several surgeries and spent months in the NICU. While trying to balance having a baby at home and their other baby fighting for her life, they lost their jobs and struggled to make ends meet. With eviction looming and the holidays approaching, the Foundation stepped in to cover their rent, pay their bills, and provide groceries and gifts for their first holiday season.

Asia has kidney disease and requires dialysis several times a week. While going through treatment, Asia struggled to cope and felt very alone. Then, her mom learned about the Stink Bug Project. After training and matching, the family was able to bring home a new member, Apollo. Now, when Asia is dealing with side effects from her treatment or loneliness, Apollo is there for her to give Asia the unconditional love and support she needs to get through the hard times.
