Story
It is SAFE Space's strategy to establish a student resource center network that provides the following services to students: Food Pantry, Clothes Closet, Mental Health Counseling, Case Management, Financial Education and Emergency Aid.
Along with the multiple services provided by SAFE Space, there is also a Advocacy Helpline that started in 2019. Since that time the advocacy helpline has fielded over 7,000 calls, helping approximately 5,200 students.
Then in partnership with UT Health San Antonio, the Alamo Colleges District provides primary health care services to students through Wellness 360. This program is available to students with and without health insurance, it provides treatment for allergies, colds, and other minor health issues.
Support of this program will ensure that students have a way of meeting their basic needs in order to be successful.
