Iowa students are the future, and protecting that future starts with heart health. Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in our state, which makes early education essential. At Iowa Heart Foundation, we believe this mission begins in the classroom. Our heart kits give students hands‑on tools to learn how to care for their hearts and build lifelong healthy habits.

In 2025, 34 schools requested heart kits, including 17 participating in the Healthy Kids Collaboration. Each kit includes six Iowa‑standard heart health lessons, 20 stethoscopes, 30 heart‑shaped stress balls, a timer, a heart model, a box of alcohol wipes, and two heart puzzles—everything teachers need to bring heart health to life.
