Story
FIT’s current science labs were built over 50 years ago. They’ve served well, but they weren’t designed for today’s challenges, let alone tomorrow’s.
This new lab will:
Combine and modernize our existing lab spaces into one dynamic, future-ready facility
Power breakthrough research in biology, chemistry, and biobased materials
Expand interdisciplinary STEAM learning that puts sustainability and design on equal footing
Provide students with tools to create real-world solutions—from circular fashion systems to renewable textiles
We’ve already seen what’s possible: student-founded companies like Keel Labs and Werewool are reshaping the industry with science-based innovations. Imagine what more our students can do with the right space, the right equipment, and the right investment.
This lab will directly impact thousands of students and, by extension, the entire industry they’re preparing to change. It will keep FIT at the forefront of sustainable innovation. And it will ensure that science, creativity, and climate responsibility are never separate, but powerfully intertwined.
